Markus Zusak
Markus Zusak was born in Sydney, Australia. Markus began his career as a janitor and english teacher for a high school. He then began to write young adult fiction novels. His first book was The Underdog, published in 1999, Fighting Ruben Wolfe, 2001, and When Dogs Cry, 2002. His first award winning book, I Am the Messenger, won the award called Michael L. Printz Honor selection. Zusak had The Book Thief published in 2006. Over a million copies of The Book Thief were sold and once again one of Zusak's books one a Printz Honor award.
